When we read together, we succeed together.

Read Together ATL seeks to bolster literacy and improve reading outcomes for at-risk students through a one-on-one tutoring learned word and comprehension program.

Why is this important?

The 2021-22 3rd grade proficiency rate for the state of Georgia was only 36%

Students who are not on grade level by 4th grade are four times more likely to drop out

Due to school closures, APS has an estimated 3.6 point learning loss in reading proficiency

Our vision is to see achievement gaps narrow and proficiency rates rise in our city.

Read Together ATL is just one piece of the puzzle in seeing this vision come to life. Students need a holistic, literacy rich environment, and we seek to be a part of helping create that for second graders in Atlanta.  We partner with schools to support their efforts in literacy, focusing on the learned word component and reading with students each session in order to foster reading fluency and comprehension.
